Meet The Team
Our founders bring decades of combined expertise in advocating for and serving the senior community, particularly those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.
Jarell Oshodi,Esq. is a regulatory compliance attorney of 14 years, and former Rating Veterans Service Representative (RVSR) with the Department of Veterans Affairs. In her role at the VA, she evaluated complex disability claims, including those related to Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) and Special Home Adaptation (SHA) benefits, ensuring Veterans received the necessary home modifications to live safely and independently.This experience, combined with her legal experience, gives her a unique understanding of the specific needs of individuals requiring accessible living spaces. She leverages this special knowledge to provide thoughtful, customized solutions that empower Dara Life clients to age in place with dignity and security.
Dr. Ashleigh Igbokwe is a highly experienced, board-certified family medicine doctor with over 14 years of dedicated service in the healthcare field. Her extensive background includes conducting in-home evaluations for senior Veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs, which provided valuable insight into the distinct challenges seniors and their caregivers encounter in maintaining their health and safety at home.With her clinical expertise and hands-on experience assessing both health and home environments, Dr. Ashleigh ensures that every recommendation from Dara Life is informed by her medical background and designed to promote safety, independence, and overall wellness for seniors and their families.
Together, they combine legal, medical, and senior service expertise to go beyond identifying physical hazards. They take a holistic approach, assessing both the home environment and their clients' ability to navigate and manage daily life safely. While they do not provide medical care, their evaluations offer a deeper understanding of how well their clients function in their home, providing practical insights to thrive.
